Photographs: Suite for Solo Trumpet, Electronics, & Trumpet Ensemble

I am vulnerable to falling in love with beautiful places. This trait is both good and bad. On the one hand, I’ve had many experiences of deep awe and wonder. But on the other, my heart has been repeatedly broken by goodbyes, pieces forever scattered all over the world. But each place I have loved has also filled a space in my heart. Making it broken, yes, but also a mosaic of the wonders.

I always try to capture the wonders in photographs, some of which acted as the inspiration for this suite. Each movement reflects a picture from a place that has a piece of my heart. I hope you will be able to experience the wonders of these places through these sonic representations.

This suite can be performed in full, but each movement can also stand alone. Each movement features a different instrumentation.
